I have been off the grid for a while. I have continued to take pictures of where I have been in the hopes of writing but life got busy. This past December (I know…a little late) I read about this event at Mannino’s Italian Bistro at Virginia Beach Oceanfront called Feast of the Seven Fishes. I’m Italian so I have definitely heard of this Christmas Eve tradition and have always wanted to participate in it. Sadly, my family does not participate. It may have something to do with the fact that one will be in the kitchen all day cooking 7 different kinds of fish for an Italian-populated family.
I love my new co-workers! We all decided to do a paint night together last Thursday. Instead of the normal painting on canvas, we painted wine glasses. All of us met at the Mermaid Winery on Thursday night for some painting and food.
After sitting down at a large table in the back, we each were handed a wine glass to paint and a menu. I had a hard time decided what I wanted but finally settled on the Smoked Salmon Bruschetta and the classic cheese board to share. I am a sucker for a good cheese board! I also had a happy hour white wine which for the life of me I cannot remember the name.
Lately I have been trying to get back into running. I have stopped for a long time and missed that runner’s high. My friend and I usually run after work at Fort Monroe near the beach, but we were ready for a change in scenery. My boss told my about Noland Trail located within the Mariner’s Museum in Newport News.
