Lately I have been trying to get back into running. I have stopped for a long time and missed that runner’s high. My friend and I usually run after work at Fort Monroe near the beach, but we were ready for a change in scenery. My boss told my about Noland Trail located within the Mariner’s Museum in Newport News.
This past Saturday I decided to get out of the house and go for a walk with Samson. I have been to Fort Monroe in the past and love the area. It is right before the Hampton Roads Bridge and Tunnel but yet it is SO quiet. It’s as if your out of the city but yet you are still in it. I plan on writing another post about the Fort itself because I am sure I will be back again soon.
Last weekend I decided to go get a massage. After a lot yelp-ing, I decided on Body Shoppe Spa in Yorktown. I scheduled it for Saturday. I drove up to an older strip mall on a very icy day in Virginia. The outside is nothing spectacular but just like most hole in the wall places, it was a pleasant surprise. After filling out necessary paperwork, I was escorted back to a large room by the massage therapist. The room had a private bathroom with two massage tables. There was music playing and the lights down low. The room looked something like this:
